    Hello All,

Just joined the forum - about to take part in the Plymout-Banjul Challenge and our trusty steed is a LHD 1992 Mk3 Golf 1.8 CL (carb) with 300,000km on the clock.

The car is in fairly good nick and has the benefit of a full VW service history (26 stamps) - despite being imported from France a while back.

I am after some fairly specific advice on manual gearbox and diff oil to use for the trip.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Thanks for the messages - we go on Wednesday next week. So far we've fitted a sumpguard, and got a lot of kit - also got the roof bars, some spare wheels, etc. - mainly need to make some underbody skid guards for thefuel & brake lines, and some other odd jobs.
