    First things first,

I just wanna say hi and introduce myself to you all.

Ive just joined the ranks and bought a 2002 3 door 150pd GT TDI with 60K on the clock. I negotiated a cambelt change and year warranty with it with a bit of fear of the car having problems (my paranoia) due to the fact ive never spent this sort of cash on a car before. (i previously drove an Audi80)

Now ive introduced myself i was wondering if you guys would mind answering a few questions for me:

    * Will the golf take 18" RS4 or RS8 replica wheels? Ive been doing a bit of ferreting around and it sounds like wheelbase are a good company to get them from? I really cant decide which wheels look better, and im struggling to find any pics of 3 door mk4's with RS4 or RS8 wheels on. Have any of you got a 3 door with either of those wheels? And if you have, do you mind posting some photos?

    * I pick the car up on Friday, is there anything i should be getting done maintenance wise to keep the engine running sweet? Im not sure what has been changed or what should be changed at this sort of mileage (other than the cambelt?)

    * I want some decent door speakers, are the stock ones up to much?

    * Are there any other things i should look for? Is it worth taking in to VW or a VW specialist for an inspection/service?

Sorry for babbling on with my questions guys,

    Thanks in Advance,

    Alex

Hi and welcome to the forum....

Golf will take 18's no problem (225-40 r18 tyres).

Just make sure it gets serviced regularly... and use the correct oil.

    Enjoy

205 is the width of the tyre....

If you are getting 18's you need 225-40-R18 tyres, and
If you are getting 17's you need 225-45-R17's .....

Use this guide to sort your tyre needs...... (need original tyre size, possibly 195-50 R15's )

If you buy wheels get the 17 inch as the 18s ride isn't very nice.
also the 150bhp is the best you can also get a remap to around (185) without a prob, if you want
