    Hello all,

    New member and first post.

In a brilliant display of stupidity I happened to wack my right side wing mirror on a cement block while parking my Sharan.

The mirror is a wreck yet still attached to the vehicle. I can find plenty of replacement parts to replace the offended mirror but I have no idea if it is even possible to replace in my driveway or if I should take it to the VW service.

The Sharan is over 9 years old so of course having it fixed is probably going to cost me a proverbial arm and leg.

hi, its a simple job to replace , open the door and look opposite the mirror and you will see two plastic plugs, carefully prise them out and behind them is are two allen bolts, i think they are about 6mm but check , just undo them and the mirror will come away from the door as a complete unit .

Will all the control cables and wiring also be there?

Will there be any problems with powered and heated mirrors?

the heated part is usually just two wires with a spade connector, the control cable if manual, is prob easier to leave attached and change the whole lot by removing the door card and taking out the control knob , it normally just pushes forward and then a quick twist and its out , have never tried to seperate the cable from the mirror, i would imagine its a bit fiddly! if its an electric mirror its just a matter of disconecting the wires.

Outstanding. The mirror is electric controlled so things should be easier. Just need to take a look.

    Thanks for the help.
