    Default 3rd gear – 05-12-2007,05:48 PM
    My 06 A4 2.0 TDI Sline has recently had 3rd gear and 2nd to 3rd synchro rings replaced under warranty.

    Is this a common problem?

    3rd was ripping as I changed up from 2nd.

    I have not heard of it one the 2.0TDI 140's..

    I know theres been an issue with the 2.0TDI 170 eating the gearbox for breakfast with the torque!!


    EDIT... is it a 140bhp or 170?

    Normal driving but I bought the car 1 year old so theres no telling how previous owner drove.

    3rd got progressively worse after I collected car and they carried out the above repair to rectify.
