    Hello,

Please can anyone help me. i have just bought a Beta stereo form my Mk3 Golf. However i would like to get my hands on a manual so I know how to put the code in correctly. as long as it is readable I'm happy, scanned or .pdf not fussy.

Hope that some one can help.

    Regards,

    Mark.

Hi, I was wondering if you ever had any luck with the Beta radio. I have just bought a mk4 golf and the radio wont let me input the code. It says SAFE2 on the display when turned on.

If the unit says safe you will need to leave it switched on for at least an hour uninterrupted.

After it has freed up it should switch on units says SAFE, then change to 1000. Enter code using preset 1- 4. Press >> to enter code number. If the display flashes and 1 appears it’s the wrong code number !

No the display will show 1000 before it lets you put your code number in. You will have to leave the key in the accessory position or go for a long drive. The timer won't reset just by turning the radio on.

On a Mk3 from recollection, I think you can just turn the key to the ignition position then back to the removal position but leave it in and the stereo will remain turned on.
(Long time ago I had one - memory not what it used to be...)

Don't leave it with the ignition on - things get hot that shouldn't when you do that.

No, I'm in the same boat!

Didn't expect a crap product from VW. Oh well, must be a sign of the times!
