    Hi All

"Can anyone help !" I had a starting problem run Vag com Fault was the cam position sensor replaced that all ok on starting now but I am now getting a fault code on the Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incor. Correlation.
Does this point to the sensor at fault and I need to replace or is it a software
job. If so can I do this with VAG-COM.

Don't know, try clearing the code with VAG-COM.

One went on our 2.0 petrol recently but it showed a different message to yours. £50 later and it was fixed. One bolt to undo and a connector to unclip and the swap is done.

That is suggesting a phase error between the two sensors, what engine code is this, a PD TDI?

Engine Code is AVJ 1.8T PETROL When the fault code is cleared using Vag com it comes back. If there is a phase error can this be corrected with Vag Com I only have ver 312 on my lap top.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Could be something like 00513 I think. Had a similar fault sorted under warranty on the wife's car.

00513 would just be G28 no signal.

Sounds more like a timing issue to me. If the timing belt is worn / loose or slipped a tooth, then this fault can occur as the ECM sees too much of an interval between the two sensor signals.

Cam belt changed about 10 months ago
All was fine for about 6 months then the car was hard to start ran vag com
pionted to the camposition sensor changed that noe starts first time and the car runs very well. Engine fault symbol is now showing seems to me the speed sensor may now be faulty.
Do you think I need to check the cam belt for any missing teeth.

I will run vag-com tonight to see what fault code is present I may get a new speed sensor and changed it and see if the fault gos.
