A3 2.0t FSI clunking noise

Can anyone help.....

I have a Audi A3 2.0t FSI 55 plate and is wonderful but recently have encountered a huge clunking sound from under the mid section of the car when accelerating suddenly. It's been into Audi for a check on all possibilties but they're saying its because it has alot of power that it does this.

The car has only 8500 miles on the clock and not due for a service for awhile too. It only seems to happen from a standing start that when you give it a bit....it takes off briefly and then clunk, clunk, clunk.....and off it goes as normal.

If anyone has a similar problem or has any idea what this could be.....would be greatful

There is a name for this but I forget. If I remember correctly its the engine twisting so much that the mounts compress the bushes completely that metal touches metal. My Leon did this after I had it tuned and my bird's golf GT TDI did it, both diesels with loads of torque.

The solution would be stiffer bushes but the disadvantage would be more vibration transmitted from the engine to the rest of the car. Maybe Audi need to acknowledge this and sort it out under warranty. That's horse **** saying its becuase its powerful.
