Hello everyone i'm new to the forum.

A few days ago my Auxiliary drive belt snapped and i've since got a new one.

Thing is I don't know how to fit it so I have a few questions.

How do I release the tension exactly? Is it by loosening the bolt on the first pulley?

Also which way does the belt go round on a Non Air con version? I have an idea but any images or descriptive information would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
    John

Sorry, its the 1997 Audi A4 1.9 TDi. not sure on the engine code, but in this Audi I think there was only 1 engine for it, the same in the passat.

    Many thanks for your help

Just ignore the numbers 1,2,10 for the air/con.

You need a 15mm spanner on (number 4 pulley in the picture) turn it anti-clockwise to release the tension.
