2001 Passat Estate rear luggage light

I had problems with rear luggage light would not go out when door shut - alarm on dash flashed rear door open and then main alarm would sound when parked and locked - removed bulb but still exterior alarm sounded - removed rear tailgate panel and discovered rear wiper water hose was loose and water sprayed everywhere so reconnected hose - and gave electric fittings/locks a light spray with penetrating oil hoping this would fix light but no. So just disconnected wiring to lock switch - no more alarm but no light - any ideas ??

It is the micro switch in the lock, renew it and it will sort things out for you,make sure the pins in the connector,are not damaged.

thanks, is micro switch part of lock? - and is it easy to change

It is a loose part pressed into the lock,quiet easy to change
