So the trusty passat is still going strong at 223,000, last couple of winters i've had to open the car door from inside as door actuator on passenger side playing up - drivers side fine..

Moving on this summer, unlocking the passenger door and shutting the door it was struggling to latch back onto car kinda of half closed and lighting up on dashboard that passenger door open when closed, the only workaround was to get my wife to slam door from outside shut hold it shut, and then manually lock passenger door from inside car to make the car safe to drive occasionally.

Moving onto autumn, passenger door failing to close/latch on.

So then purchased a 2nd hand door actuator and replaced it, now door is closing fine, but will not open via remote fob, and door will not open from outside with door handle, so have to open the door for passenger from inside.

Questions: -

1.) if the new door actuator was faulty would it flag as open/faulty whatever in VCDS/VAGCom/Carista etc with a fault code?

2.) could it be that the new used door actuator is fine, but there's something going on with the door handle linked to the door actuator itself?

Thanks in advance.
