No heat from blowers

Hi guys.

I have no heat from the blowers, all I'm getting is cold air. Scirocco mk3 2.0 Tsi

I scanned with vcds and I got a 9481988 code - Air quality sensor - B10AF 04 Internal system fault

Would this cause the issue?

I only got the car in July so I actually haven't used the heaters at all

I haven't checked for certain but I believe the radiator fans constantly run and sometimes the temperature needle has been dropping by a quarter then returns to normal I first noticed this when going down a very steep hill, the car is currently stage 3 so I'm wondering if its been setup to always run.

That sensor won’t cause the problem. Do the fans run with the AC off? The gauge should reach 90 within a few minutes driving and never budge up or down so if it dips, it is over cooling. The 2L EA888 engine thermostat is a disaster, it can cost over £600 to fix professionally. Because the genuine part is £227.40, people fit cheap replacements and these can be poor quality. It is important to also change the oil cooler feed tube. The cooling system may also be contaminated with old coolant, we are starting to see blocked heater matrixes on the PQ35 (Golf 5/6 etc) platform as we have on the Golf 7 for years now.

I'll check to see if the fans run with the AC off tomorrow.

So it looks like I'll need to flush the whole system and if I'm getting the matrix out I may as well replace it. Do you know the part number of the expensive part? Or name?

There's no way I can get through winter without sorting this.

It looks like I also need to replace the master cylinder as well, I've got a bit of brake pedal travel and they feel a bit spongy when pumping them.

What is the VIN? Master cylinder failure is very rare and often an overlooked fault.

The car is actually providing some heat in the car but inconsistent
With AC off no fans on startup
Passenger side vent near door constant heat.
Passenger central vent nothing
Drivers central vent, heat most of the journey
Drivers near door vent nothing

Better at 24 but a big drop to 22
Blower for windscreen working well.

The car took a long time to heat up, it stopped at 80 for 1 minute, went to 90 after dropping the heater temperature to 22.
Outside temperature 5 degrees. 30 minutes into the journey going through a 30mph zone temperature dropped to 85 briefly.
