    Hey guys,

I recently got a 2006 A6 with a 2G Low MMI. Screen was removed and replaced with an aftermarket android one, which was the cheapest one presumably, so I ripped it off, fixed the connector on the cd player, and by doing the optical bus test, the speakers popped, so I suppose they are working.

Got a new MMI display, which was a working one, but it does not light up still. So, I checked with VCDS and found that the cd player had an electrical and optical error, as well as Media Player 1, Sound System and Radio. This was before ripping off the Android media. So after I fixed the CD player and changed the fuse for good measure, it now lights up and ejects discs. But the Media Player 1, Sound System and Radio remained as electrical and optical errors. So I removed the center console and got the Control Head out, I should mention that only the Radio, CD, Car and Setup buttons lit up, so I removed the panel and got the board out and it had a bit of corrosion on it, so I cleaned it off, and then All buttons lit up, but still nothing on the display. Sadly, I do not have a copy of the VCDS Log for any errors, only thing I can remember is an error with a Module j685, Error was 02259 - Information Display and Control Head (Front) (J685). If any light could be shed, I would be deeply grateful.

Edit: I should also mention, it is a Sedan, no amp or dvd player in the back, dont know if it makes a difference for the 2g low, but still.

Okay, sounds good. But as it is a 2G Low Media with no Navi or Bose, and there is optical to the CD Player in the glove box, as I saw it light up when ignition is on. Where is the optical for the cd coming from, and could all this be caused by a faulty Control Head causing electrical error to Media Player 1, Sound System and Radio ?

    Read this

The MOST loop is the fibre optic loop that connects the infotainment system, you will need to unplug a module (one at a time) and fit the bypass on to the cars MOST connection not the module.
If no change then the module is not at fault refit the cars MOST connection back and move to another module.
