There is a coolant leak on my wife's 2006 Audi A4 quattro S-Line cabriolet, 3.0tdi ASB motor. WAUZZZ8H47K017097

The leak is at the back of the engine from a heater hose which appears to have a plastic connection at the end, hoses seem to go up into the scuttle beside the battery. I wonder if they might be different from a saloon or estate, do they have the battery in the rear.

I suspect that these parts may only be available from Audi, and would appreciate to know what the part numbers for each of the two heater hoses might be.

    Thank you.

The two hoses going into the plenum chamber then bulkhead to the matrix fitting which sticks out and are 8E1 819 371 AA feed and 8E1 819 373 AH return. There are two other hoses further back to the engine pipework, 8E0 819 672 feed and 8E0 819 673 return. All are obsolete from Audi main dealers, all four are available from Audi Tradition who are Audi saviours.

Thank you for that Crasher, that being the case, please could you direct me to Audi Tradition, being in France I wonder how long it might take to get the parts. Very useful, Thank you. M

It will be easier than in the UK, since a tiny majority of xenophobic nationalists voted to leave the EU, dealing with Tradition in the UK (except Northern Ireland) has become nearly impossible; I only know of one other person than myself who has persevered to make it happen. I have a big delivery coming next Thursday.

Hello again, things not going well, sent email contact to Audi Tradition, as yet no reply, I am very worried and surprised that Audi cannot supply parts for a 2006 vehicle. If I cannot get new parts the only option it to try and repair the existing hose. I seem to remember in my dark and distant past that I had a heater hose that was leaking, I cut it where the leak was, inserted a length of copper domestic pipe and secured it with a jubilee clip on each side. That worked, unfortunately the leak on the Audi is very close to a connection and it may not be possible.

I can get them for you but it will be a month as my last order arrived a few days ago, that is unless you can stomach the €50 carriage they would charge me. You can sign up to Tradition as a customer and just buy them, in the UK, you can’t.

There is an Englishman near me who retired as an Audi mechanic, who still has UK connections, and is looking for me, however I have found several on ebay.de which might be possible but the leaking hose would have to be removed first to be sure of the shape, I have found two that are supposed to fit the car, one bendy one with two ends and one with three connections. It is very difficult to see or get access to the hose, and in my dotage virtually impossible. (A little aside, my 2006 A6 Allroad just passed the local version of an MOT, there has been clunking for some time from the front right, I expected the tester to fail it on worn bush or balljoint, but nothing, sometimes it does not want to go into Allroad mode, but it did yesterday, do you think the clunk could be from the strut, it still goes up and down when asked but doesn't drop when parked overnight? I recently had the engine mountings changed.)
