    Hi There.
I recently had to replace the Alternator on my 2006 Golf V (petrol). It has a Valeo unit with a Coil Spring that provides tension for the Alternator Belt. Turned into a bit of a slog, although I got there in the end, and all is running good ...
Is there a special tool for clamping that little Coil Spring ?? I "clamped" it with stiff wire and just about got enough tension off it to allow the belt to fit. But surely there is a better way ??

Look forward to any info on this, for future reference ...
