We have a 1.2 DSG auto with the ubiquitous selector switch issue common to many VAG cars with DSG boxes and intermittently throwing a B116229 error, but more usually a quick bleep on the dash and an error appearing for a second or two "Error Workshop, only leave vehicle in Position P"

I know there are several versions of a switch kit that fit to the top of the selector housing and effectively bypass the defective switch - but I can't find a definitive view on whether any of them will fit the Mk3 Fabia, or whether there is a different solution needed.

    Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Just sent you a PM Crasher. I have had the gaiter off and it is a black topped selector, but the kit 5Q0 713 128A never lists the SKoda Fabia as suitable, only the Octavia. Cheers.

It doesn’t show it from what I can see at home, I would need to ask TPS. All it shows is the full revised selector unit 6C2 713 025 AF at £1006.20

    A grand? Hell.

It's clear some people with Fabia cars have had them fixed so presumably some selectors can be fixed and some cannot? See link to a Youtube video below.
