Apologise if this is in the wrong part.

Just bought an Audi A4 allroad 2.0 TDI 2010, it says the timing belt was done in 2021, but the person has done nearly 90,000 miles on it; should it be changed?

You read alsort that they are fine till 140k miles to you have to change them every 5 years regardless.

    Thanks.

The VAG Germany official line is 10 years or 140k miles and VAG UK now follow this rather than lying and saying 5 years, they must have really felt the hit from losing that cash cow. Personally, I feel 10 years/140k is WAY too long, VAG may say 10 years/140k but if it failed 1 day outside the three year warranty at 30k miles, they would wash their hands of you. We have decided to settle on 6 years, 60k miles BUT tell customers the truth and let them make the choice.

Thanks for this good reply. I'll probably get it done anyway just for peice of mind, it's way too good a car, turns out with all the whistles and bells, just to risk it to save a few hundred quid.
