Advice yet again please. I asked this ages ago, and was advised to change the gearbox oil in my automatic box I need a pump...is this a job I can attempt myself?! If so is there a certain type of pump I need to buy? And any advice on how to approach it would be greatly appreciated...there doesn't seem to be any how to videos, that I can find anyway. Cheers

Hi Steve, I found the old post, and here's what you said...
It is a GPE code 09B series box so the ubiquitous Jatco JF506E/F5A5. The filter is VAG part number 09A 325 429 A and is behind the sump plate. We would use the Febi 26054 filter plus you will need the gasket 09B 321 371, some companies sell the filter and gasket as a kit. The fluid is VAG G 052 990 A2 so basically GM Dexron III ATF which is easily available.

So...I have the filter and gasket. I also have a pump that clips onto battery, to drain out of dip stip...could this be adapted to drain/ fill the oil with a suitable adapter?! Cheers.

Should be OK, remember you need a diagnostic system which can show live data so you can monitor the fluid temperature.

Thanks Steve. 2 final questions... can you tell me which fitting I need to do the draining/ filling, and is there a video anywhere you have come across that may give me some pointers? Appreciated as always.

There must be some self obsessed narcissistic shocked faces on YouTube who can spend an hour telling you their version. I can't remember the key sizes but usually 17mm hex and 8mm for the level plug.
