Front suspension noise

OK - hear me out on this......

As you know I'm running another post regarding the rear suspension - you pointed out that I am actually using the wrong struts AND springs..........

It just so happens the company that supplied the wrong bits for the rear are the same company that supplied the front shocks - they were given registration and VIN on both accounts........if they got it wrong for the rears then surely getting it wrong for the fronts would'nt be too difficult for them?

The front shocks look ok - no misting for example...... but that doesn't mean they are ok -

The front damper OE number is 4F0 413 031 AJ (£200.40) and again, there is nothing aftermarket that I would trust, even the Boge and Sachs listings replace multiple numbers and that isn’t right. NAPA don’t list a front damper for your car, the number NK63473305 doesn’t cross reference in TecDoc and a search shows it is for 1BV but with a 4 cylinder TDI engine.
