2004 C5 4BS Allroad - Rear Left Suspension Bag - identifing it !

Hi -

Having recently ordered a replacement bag (eBay) it appears that despite my checking the bag will fit against all the various id numbers (2004 A6 Diesel Estate 2.5 TDI Quattro AWD C5 4BS 2496CC 132kw 180 HP AKE BAU BDH ....) IT DOESNT ... The replacement is shorter and smaller diameter (irrespective of lots of grunting , it would compress/concertina sufficiently to fit)

I've put a pic of the existing and replacement together - I've checked with Audi that the part number supplied is correct against the part number of the replacement (4Z7616051A) But it doesn't fit !!

So , can anyone shed some light on this - my thought is that (for some reason) had an older type bag fitted , although it was first registered 08/09/2004 .

One is fully extended and the other isn't. What is the VIN and the part number on both?
