A was informed yesterday, by a 2nd hand car dealer from South wales, when enquiring about shoes superb Timing belt change intervals..... A believe it should be changed around 60,000 miles and 110,000 miles. The car trader advised me - "Skoda changed there timing belt schedule (miles) to , the original timing belt does not require changing until 140,000 miles" !!,,,, This a have never here of any car timing belt lasting this long!
Any advice on this ??? Thanks in advance, Paul

The VAG Germany interval has (on the EA288) always been 10 years or 144k miles and VAG UK were forced to get in line. The problem is, if the belt fails at 3 years and whatever miles, VAG UK will wash their hands of you so what do you do? We advise customers at 6 years and 60k miles BUT make clear the VAG specifications leaving them to decide what to do.

That dash looks like someone bought a cheap tablet off flea bay, threw it at the dash and stuck it down where it landed, horrid.
