Hi, been out in our 2018 Polo 1.0 Tsi this morning without problems. Came to go out again and it appears to be in Limp Mode; running very rough and not responding to throttle very well.

Are there any common faults I should look for? It has just been serviced (oil change service); I'm going to try a fault code read when I can find the kit. VIN number is WVWZZZAWZJU029770.

    Any pointers gratefully received.

Turbo wastegate actuator seizure which strips the motors gears or snaps the actuator rod. New genuine VW turbo 04C 145 703 £1392 retail inc. They are so crap that VW themselves have stopped offering recon exchange, there is no other way we have found that is reliable. The repair kit ends up being £336.42 and hours of labour down the drain, don't ask how I know...

Thanks for the reply. Let's hope it's something less expensive, my local guy will be doing a fault code read asap - he did the service exactly 2 weeks ago.

Hello again, fault code read pointed to an electronic fault in the throttle body, replacement being fitted soon. I'll come back with the results of the repair.

Hi Crasher, I didn't take note of the code but I will try to find out when it goes in for repair on Monday. I think the guy said it came up as a fault in the electronics on the throttle actuator motor.

Coming back on this one - new throttle body fitted and the car is back to normal, possibly better than it was before. I didn't get the fault code.
