    So I need to replace both parts and @Crasher kindly provided the LUK part numbers for both. I've brought them now but the garage is saying I need to confirm I have the correct parts as they have checked on their system/supplier and they think I might have the wrong one or both. I have brought the following;

    clutch kit 623 3082 00
    Flywheel 415 0948 10

Can somebody please confirm I have the right parts please?

    reg is YD13VWY
    VIN - Wvwzzzauzdp042553
    Engine code - CPTA

    Thank you

I may have made an error, it happens, so I will check. Where did the parts come from?

Using the reg in ECP omnipart I confirm the VIN is wvwzzzAUzDP042553. Using partslink24 I get the flywheel as being VW 04E 105 266 H which via TecDoc is an LUK 415 0948 10.

    Partslink24 states the pressure and friction plate is VW 04E 141 015 K but TecDoc says that could be LUK 623 3083 00 or 623 3765 00

The full LUK kit TedDoc gets as 600 0169 00

THIS is a cold lesson for punters and garages alike, NEVER let customers supply their own parts, a recipe for cockup.

Anyway, how do the numbers compare?

So I have the right flywheel but wrong clutch. Should I go with a another brand or buy both LUK ones and return the one we don't use? Even if the garage brought these parts, how would they ensure they ordered the right parts? Do they do something different?

However, using the VW part number 04E 141 015 K for the friction plate, LUK say that the part over brought LUK 623 3082 00 is compatible. This is soo confusing

I brought them from Car Parts in Motion and they advised that these were the correct parts for my car based on reg and VIN

Which LUK kit did they send you? You are right though, it is confusing even with all the trade systems.

I've got these 2 and will return one

    LuK 623308200

    LuK 623376500

Hopefully one of them will work!

LUK's own web site gets it wrong as well! My best guess is still 623 3082 00
