    Hi,

I've just started getting an esp/abs error on my 2010 Golf plus 2 litre diesel automatic. Sometimes the error comes up when I turn the ignition, sometimes it might come up after a short while of driving. The asb and traction control lights come on. Sometimes it lets out a high pitched constant beep to replace the parking sensor beeping, sometimes it doesn't and the parking sensors work fine. Every so often the traction control light will go out early in a journey and then the car will sometimes drop down a gear and rev high, revving higher in gear changes than it does in sports mode. This can be stopped by slowing down, with the traction control light coming back on with a reminder about the esp/abs issue and the automatic gear shifts return to normal. I haven't tried testing the abs yet.

Do these symptoms suggest anything in particular? I plan to clean the abs sensors in the hubs but will get it to the garage if these symptoms suggest something more complicated.

    Thanks for reading,
    Dave
