    Hi everyone!

    I have a 2011 Passat B7 1.6 TDI Bluemotion.
I got this car for peanuts due to an electrical fault that I have since rectified, but now after 6 months or so, the injectors are showing signs of wear.
I really like this car and want to keep it for as long as possible but I can't and won't spend over £1k on a set of injectors.
The cost of 4 new injectors got me thinking about other another option, such as the title of this thread.

I have the opportunity to pick up a 2010 B6 Passat 2.0 TDI highline with lower mileage for basically scrap money due to a large scrape down one side and the owner wanting something "newer and more reliable as she is fed up of spending money on this car.
It's recently had a Clutch kit, DMF, new ECU, DPF professionally cleaned, timing belt kit, water pump and service. No expense has been spared on this car.

I am fully capable of swapping the whole lot from one to the other and would enjoy doing so, but my question is, has anyone done this swap?
Would this engine work (not sure of engine code just yet but will update when I get more info) and what would I need to swap over on the electrical side to allow the this to work?

I do have access to VCDS and ODIS.

My gut says it should just be a straight forward swap, but if i need to swap instrument cluster's for instance, this could be a problem due to differences between B6 and B7.

I would intend on swapping out the complete Engine, Gearbox, loom, fuse box and as much as possible from the donor.

Any help or information on this would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

£1k?, more like £2k! Yes it is a feasible swap but there are a myriad of major and minor differences so you need a full and matching dodnor car as EVERYTHING electronic engine will need to go over; basically gut the front of the car forwards of (and including) the ECU and rebuild from the donor. Access to PartsLink24 would be extremely helpful during this to identify part number differences as you go along.

Hi Crasher. Thanks for the reply.
The donor car in question is a late 2010 B6 2.0 TDI CR 140 which has bosch ecu and injectors i believe,
I was planning on swapping everything. The main concern is if the plug on the Bosch ECU going into the car would match up.
I guess i won't know until i look at them side by side.
The B7 1.6 tdi has a Siemens ECU.

Also i hears i may need to swap the CCM? What is this and where is it located?
    Thanks

    Edit:
Nevermind, I found it. It's CBAB.

Relating to the conversion mentioned above, would somebody possible be able to look up this VIN for me to get the engine code?
I don't have access to the car for the minute but would like to fibd out more about the compatibility of the donor.

    VIN is WVWZZZ3CZAE194473

    Thanks

Hi. Sorry for the late reply.

The purchase of the donor car fell through after the owner decided to keep it for a bit longer, but I'm looking at another tomorrow which is a 2010 B6 2.0 TDI 170bhp (CBBB).

The EGR valve has also since died on the 1.6 so even more reason to ditch it. It's in limp mode 90% of the time now.

The VIN of the donor car: WVWZZZ3CZ9P026564
The VIN of the recipient car: WVWZZZ3CZCE113380

I would hugely appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction for some wiring diagrams relating to the ECU. Specifically the car side of the loom that goes to the ECU for both cars to work out any differences in the pinouts.

    Thanks again

For the wiring diagrams and everything else you need, use erWin. If you buy a day rate for €30 you can take your time to download and save as a pdf exactly what you need using the two VIN's. I use a save to pdf print function. With the donor being a 2009 type 3C and yours being a 2011 type 36, I am concerned you will run into some digital incompatibility problems, it is a conversion I would not do as you can buy the car with the engine from the factory. The donor car has a CBBB engine.

    Hi Crasher.

Thank you for your reply and expressing your concern.

I have already purchased the donor car so at this point I have nothing to lose.
If it doesn't work I will sell the engine etc and probably get most of my money back so why not try.
I have the donor car up on stands now ready to take the engine and box out.
Is there anything you would advise checking first like reading any data from the ECU or BCM while it still works?
I have access to VCDS or ODIS-S.
    Thanks again.
