Right hand side of the dash behind the cover, this box is called SC, the one in the engine bay along the top is SB and those along the front of the box are SA. Some cars will have a fourth box on the left side of the dash and this is SD.

Nothing behind either end driver or passenger, if your referring to the sides of the dash, but looking at the pics below i wouldnt say theres a fusebox on that side at all?

I thought it was an 8P A3, not an early 8V, I should have looked at the title, the fuse box and central electrics are behind the glovebox on the far left as per Golf 7 as the 8V is MQB platform. This is an Octavia but it is the same

trying to pin point an issue with the window and indicator on the passenger side, initial reaction - check fuses, everything checks out ok, but only moments later i jump in the drivers seat, turn engine over, it didnt start so i took key back to off then switched engine on again, then all of a sudden lost everything on the dash including the infotainment, car wont start or do anything

    codes thrown out are
    Engine control module
u15500 lost communication with instrument panel cluster (ipc) control module
p157000 engine control module (ecm) disabled
u042800 invalid data received from steering angle sensor module

    central electrics
b140e13 voltage supply terminal 30, right, open circuit
b142313 voltage supple terminal 30 power, open circuit
b1330f5 anti theft alarm system sensor, alert emergency activation stage 1
    u112100 databus missing message

    gateway

u15500 lost communication with instrument panel cluster (ipc) control module
u020000 lost communication with door control module b

    information control unit
    b200087 control module software incompatible
    u110100 component protection active
    u112100 databus missing
u10e400 multimedia system control head no communication

so all i can say is, it certainly wasnt planned!!!

The BCM is right there end on in the picture to the left of the fuse board at a slight angle sandwiched between the A pillar and the fuse board, is an absolute ******* to get out but thankfully not prone to failure; if it does need replacing, replacement is not plug and play and even VCDS can’t set up a new one. Looking for fuses to solve your problem is unlikely to help as few items are fused even though there are lots of fuses! You problem is quite clearly indicated by the terminal (Line) 30 codes and this circuit is commanded by the 645 Line 15 relay on the fuse board, VW part number 4H0 951 253 A which retails at £32.94 from any VAG main dealers parts department or a TPS if they will serve you.
