Hi All, the dreaded "particle trap bank one below efficiency threshold"

The word around the camp fire seems to be that this is common on Audi/Vw cars 2015 onwards, and the cause is in fact a blocked EGR cooler , NOT the DPF.... my car has only done 45000mls..... Is this mileage enough to bung up the EGR cooler already? Mega strip down needed to access the bloody thing, and £582 for the cooler from Audi. Can these cars really be So unfit for purpose?

It is common for any make of vehicle with a DPF often due to short journeys, poor maintenance and the use of cheap fuel. It isn't the manufacturers fault, blame the ECO warriors that pestered governments of the late 90's onwards into the forced adoption of Diesel to "save the planet", then they realised it was killing people; now we are paying the price for shouty mouthed minority lobbying.
