Was the stud you used the M10 into the head and M8 for the tensioner?

I have experienced what you describe in the past a couple of times, both times the tensioner was made by Litens, but it has been many years since the last time; then again we do very few BKD's now as they are getting old.

The tensioner that my car had and the one I used the first time is Litens, and the new one from the Contitech kit, I don't know what brand it is, it's blue and doesn't have the hole to lock it like the Litens
