So almost got the engine out of the B6.
Only major difference I can see so far is this has a fuel pump by the filter that the B7 doesn't and it comes from the car side of the loom.
Does anyone know if this is the only fuel pump on this or is there one in the tank too? Hopefully I can wire this extra pump up to an ignition feed and a relay manually.

So I found a guy on YT that did the same conversion from a Seat leon into a Caddy. The wiring differences i was concerned about are not actually that difficult. He recommended "Immo Off" as being the easiest option, however I've read on the Passat, the steering column will still be locked.
How would i go about getting around this?

I'm not sure exactly which parts contain Immobilizer coding as some people have mentioned clocks, some say not the clocks.
I know i could swap the CECM, and CCM, but then i would have to code my ABS and other modules back into those.
I have no idea what i'm doing with that, and I'm sure i would also lose some of the B7's features by doing that.
Does anyone have any ideas on the best solution for this?

    Thanks

If I was to adapt the ECU to immobilizer using ODIS with geko, could that work or would ODIS try to make the ECU compatible for the 1.6 or something?

The steering column lock and the central convenience unit are paired component's.

So I think I'm almost done with this conversion. Spent the last few days doing the actual swap.

The wiring differences at the ECU plug weren't all that difficult to overcome, I spent quite a while beforehand going through wiring diagrams for both cars noting any differences at that T94 ECU connector which paid off when it came down to it, also need to add "Fuel Pump relay 2" to supply the secondary fuel pump which also doesn't look too difficult.

The issue I'm currently facing is that the donor car being a B6 did not have start/stop and the B7 does. The B6 ECU is obviously not Start/Stop capable.

Looking at both wiring diagrams, The B7 shows J906 and J907 starter relays as if they are part of a module, but it doesn't say which.
These relays are normally triggered by 2 pins on the ECU. With the ECU being from the B6, it doesn't have this ability and those pins were not populated on the B6.
I will need to either bypass these relays and wire in a J682 "Terminal 50 Supply relay" as on the B6, or trigger J906 and J907 from somewhere else.
The B6 wiring diagram shows a much simpler starting circuit which doesn't involve the ECU at all, just a J682 "Terminal 50 Supply relay", triggered from J519.

Where would I find J519 on the B7?
I've also temporarily done an Immo Off which did say may require bypassing starter relays anyway in some situations.
This is only until i can retrieve the Immo data from the original ECU.

On another note, does anyone know of a B6 2.0 TDI breaking?
A couple of things I need to finish this.
The clutch Hydraulic line, and the plastic bracket that holds the gear cables.

I'm in Lincoln but willing to travel an hour or so.

    Thanks in advance!

The J519. I have a dead 2009 type 3C 2.) TDI sitting outside, the steering column lock failed and I fitted a new one but the owner can't afford to pay the bill so far never mind a new J519 and that's even if they aren't obsolete... stupid design and I can't find a way around it... and a delivery driver backed in to it. It is out of MOT and soon it will get picked up by the council.
