Hello All, and thanks for looking. I have an SQ5 2016 @ 78000 miles which has full Audi service history and has had the old changed every year at 9k. Since I have had the car the mileage has increased but I have changed the oil at 9k and then let Audi change it @ 18k. The car was bought used from Audi and came with the service plan and warranty etc. it’s due a service in two weeks and while looking over things I noticed that there was soot on the turbo which appears to be coming from the actuator. Is this something to be worried about? Should I ask Audi to investigate which will come with the usual inspection fees unless is covered by warranty.

Without warranty, "absolutely Sir, it must be replaced ASAP at £K's" and with warranty, "very minor wear of the spindle and bush mate, not a problem and classed as fair wear and tear under the warranties T&C's"... you can tell I have been doing this way to long.

    Hi Crasher,

you were correct. Nothing to worry about was the statement.
So when I got home I cleaned it up and have checked it periodically. It seems to be getting worse. I have also noted about a 1-2cm drop in coolant over the last 5000 miles. Pressure test is fine. It sits at 10 bar when cold for 2-3 hours no problem. I have read online that a failing EGR valve can cause the loss of coolant and also back pressure in the exhaust system.

also think the car is noisier but maybe me over thinking it. A lot of white smoke in the morning out the exhaust when the engineer is cold. Goes away after a couple of minutes.

    thanks
    t

10 Bar!! The coolant valve in the V is notorious for leaking, cheap part but nearly a days work.

    Hi Crasher,

10 PSI. Sorry. If there was leak there would you expect the pressure to drop. I pumped it to the 10PSI value and left for about 2 hours. It did not appear to drop at all. It also seems to drop in stages which seems odd. I do on average around 400 ish miles per week. Probably around 250-300 on motorway or dual carriageways and the rest of A or B roads. It can be ok for a couple of weeks and then drops a little. Ok for a few more weeks and then drops again. Would this be in timing with a DPF regen. Had the car 18 months. Do around 25000 miles and only added 20litre of Ad-Blue.
