Hi again everyone... Does anyone have any experience adapting a new dash insert key for the Passat B7 to the comfort module? I've got OBD11 and this says it might work but I'm not holding out much hope. Is there an easy way to adapt a new key using DIY tools / software? Just to the central locking is fine, I'm probably just going to get the key chip cloned. Cheers, Chris

You need ODIS and security clearance.

So there's no way to do this DIY with software or tools that are out there? I have a dump of the comfort module EEPROM from a previous issue I had.

I only know how to do it with ODIS, if you look on the VCDS form there are people who have tried and bricked all the CAN BUS security connected ECU’s. We have a 2010 3C sitting on the road outside the workshop dead. The steering column lock unit failed completely shutting the car down, steering locked and parking brake on. Long story short, I fitted a new lock but to do it the VW way, it must be done with a new connivence unit and he can’t afford the bill so far…
