    Hi

I have a broken rear coil spring and am trying to identify the correct replacement part number.

Initially thought it was 8W0 511 115 EE but then found reference to ED, EF and EG, some of which seem to have slightly different dimensions.

VIN is WAUZZZF48HA011388 and the relevant PR code I think is 1BP. If anyone can throw light on this it would be very helpful.

Secondly there seem to be several brands available at less than half the price of original Audi parts. Eg Sachs, Eibach, Suplex etc. Are these brands good quality or should I stick with the originals?

    Thanks all

    Chris

The number of different springs is bewildering buy you were not far off, 8W0 511 115 EF. The only aftermarket brand we trust is Suplex but they don’t do that one so for me a pair of Eibach R22977 BUT they also cover the EG so they are a compromise. In this situation we push for genuine .

    Crasher

Once again thanks for your help. Exactly what I needed to know. Have just bought a couple of brand new genuine ones on Ebay.

I'm assuming that if one has already broken after 7 years it is probably wise to replace both together - especially if the rubber seat has disintegrated on both and needs replacing as well.

    Thanks Chris
