    Evening,

Today in the snow and ice, whilst changing lanes it obliterated the front bolt holding the fuel cooler in. This then destroyed the metal fuel lines on the cooler and sprayed diesel everywhere losing me nearly half a tank.

Repairs, do I put a new one in? If so what nut size will I need? I've been reading and people seem to remove the carpet in the drivers footwell and drill through, before inserting a new nut.

Is there a temp fix of just connecting the two lines together and removing the cooler? Aware this isn't a long term fix, but I can't run it without fuel going everywhere & may need to get it to a garage should I be unable to sort.

    Thanks in advance.

Common issue, it is an M6 stud welded to the floor. We replace it with a rivet stud that requires a special fitting tool. Temporarily bridging it out in this weather won't b a problem, the temp is monitored and the ECU adjusts itself accordingly.

    Thanks for the response.

Have ordered a cooler via eBay, and have gone down the rivet stud route. Went for an m8 as couldn’t find the size and guessed.

As you can see it was pretty obliterated. I had to bend the lines to get access to the other bolt holding it up.

The computer says it has 25 miles of range. Will I need to bleed + put fuel in via a can or can I just stick the new one in and drive to the garage round the corner? Thanks.
