Car Fails to Start

Well that was a day that didn't go to plan! Was out at lunchtime yesterdat and went to start the car to come home. Ignition lights came on but the starter motor did not turn over. Called VW Assist and of course when they arrived it started, but the technician recognised it as fault and the car was taken to the dealer. Apparently a new software update was released for the Tiguan and Passat last Friday evening. Fingers crossed it will solve this issue and also the mirror dip and over aggressive proximity sensors. According to the release notes it will take most of the day (if not longer) to install. Currently have a VW Multivan from Enterprise (they have to supply a VAG vehicle if it is for a VW group car being treated under warranty). May get the car back today, if not then on Wednesday. Will update with the outcome. Couldn't fault VW Assist or the dealer on this. They did everything they could to resolve the problem and keep me mobile.

Just to add to the fun, my wife's Golf decided to start randomly calling VW Assist this evening. Had raised this with the dealer earlier today as it happened last week as well and there is a software update for Golfs available as well
