These are google pics of my model of throttle body / Anti Shudder Valve.

I have oil leaking out of the hole indicated by the blue arrow.

The red arrow just indicates that the mounting bolt goes through this section of the ASV. It's the long mounting bolt that goes through the ASV and then continues into the EGR valve.

Does this little hole on the mounting lug of the ASV leak dirty oily carbon substance on anyone else's diesel golf? My specific engine is a BKD 2L. It makes a horrible mess down the coolant hoses and wiring down below it and I'm fed up cleaning them repeatedly. It has leaked here since I've owned the car 8 yrs. I'm thinking of drilling and tapping the hole to fit a bleed nipple of some description and attach a long hose directed to the very bottom of the engine. Is it supposed to leak here or what is the purpose of the little hole, a breather of some sort?

I guess I could just block it up with silicon but then all this horrible stuff will remain in the throttle body or move further along the system, don't really want it in the engine either.

The charge air system contains oil vapour from the turbo compressor shaft piston ring and from the breather system, the condensers inside the charge air system and "sweats" out of tiny gaps, completely normal and nothing to worry about.

Yeah, it's more the mess is makes and it's damaging the wiring. I think I'll try drill and tap a bleed screw of some sort into it and attach a small hose to redirect it

The bleed hole is there for when the valve is worn internally but a new Pierburg one is £250, just fo a dribble.
