    Hi All,

Looking for info re the removal of the nearside front wishbone. The auto gearbox blocks easy access to the front bush bolt. I think the sub frame may need to be lower to access.

The reason for the removal require to change rear bushes which are worn MOT advisory. Nothing mention in Audi removal guide.

    Thoughts and replies welcomed.

    Kenny

    Vehicle is Audi Q3 quattro 2014 2.0 l diesel auto 177hp.

You fit special alignment retaining pins into the front and rear consul bracket holes one one bolt in each is removed and then drop the consuls out and work on them on the bench.

    Thanks for the reply,

I removed the offside arm but did not use the special and do not have them. I have not removed the nearside due to the gearbox restricting access.
At first I could not remove the arm from the ball joint after unscrewing the 3 nuts it was very tight. I did get it off and replaced the worn rear bush bracket but cannot refit the arm onto the ball joint as the hub has moved.

    I have 2 questions

Is it possible for the wrong size of arm be fitted ?

Is there dimensions available for the arm?

Here are the dimensions from the arm I removed distance between both bushes 360mm, distance between bush and ball joint 390mm.

I obtained the following part no from an Audi dealership as 3C0 407 151 G.

Here is the chassis no WAUZZZ8U5ER146533 Audi Q3 S line quattro 2.0 auto

I have confirm part is correct and the original arms are correct. So I have answered the above questions myself.

How often do the control bracket rubbers on the front susp'n arms wear out ?

The reason I'm asking this is the 2nd set of arms replaced on this Q3. First occurred at 40, 000 miles now at 80,000 miles.

Will be getting the steering and suspension geometry check very soon.

    Thoughts and experiences please.

They are very failure prone right across the PQ35and PQ46 platforms so we recommend our customers have Powerflex which are fit and forget.
