we bought the car with a known leak here, it was supposed to be fixed but the dealer had mechanic issues. He knocked £100 off so i could get it fixed myslef.
I thought no bother buy a new one and get 'er swapped out, but when i checked parts on line, its all one piece from manifold to back box including the cat. I am not going to get that for under £100.
I am currently sicky bad so i cant go out and crawl in below. I was wondering is there an aftermarket flexi where you can cut the old out and just replace that bit?

    Thanks in advance

I had one replaced on a Focus years ago and it was an off the shelf weld in part, worked perfectly and I assume they're available in all sorts of sizes and lengths.

They are know as an iLock and we buy them from Exhaust Parts UK. you need to measure the pipe diameter and the flexi length. The weld in ones are the best but you need to be able to stainless weld.

I would just buy a new shell if the car wasn’t precious to me, I would love it if new Golf 1 and 2 shells were available like they are for other classics.
