    Replacing top mounts on 2014 A1, can I do this with strut on car still?

    just in case it helps anybody.....when the first lower strut bolt was obstinate I decided to try on the car. Using my older proper spring compressors which have double opposed threads the springs compress in place having supported the hub. The top nuts can be done from above then lower the hub on the jack enough to pop off the rubber and bearing and putting the nut back on. No drams, it worked fine. (one of the cheap new compressors which have a single thread will not work easily because the threaded rod will get in the way.
