Coupe quattro. 2.8 Motor problem.

Anybody got an idea as to what is going on?

Engine cold. Turn the key and it fires as normal but it sounds like only some of the plugs are firing this only lasts for a couple of seconds then things are apparently normal. I reverse out onto the road and slowly accelerate there are a couple of hiccups then back to normal. I continue as usual and everything is ok. It only happens when the car has been standing overnight.

I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

Start with a code read even though it is a very basic system. How old are the plugs? The injectors are known for dribbling, a shot of some strong injector cleaner can help.
