There is a factory recall for this problem. On speaking to Carlisle Audi my 51 reg A6 was covered by the recall and went in for modification.
Im a newbie on this forum but there was another thread a month or so ago re this.
Apparently if the plenum fills with water its only a matter of time before it leaks into the nearside footwell area knackering up a whole host of electrics which to replace naturally means you'll be selling a kidney on ebay to finance the repair

LOL... Mine was cleaned, vacuumed and polished (including the alloys). It was cleaner then when I picked it up! Typical that it's ******* down!

Does anyone know what the modification is. Is it a revised grommet or what. Regards Peter

They may well pop out the gromet but they won't replace the damaged control box which has failed because of it.

Therefor my remote central locking doesn't work. Rubbish....

Hi, just browsing through the forums and saw this about blocked holes, so went outside to check mine and the Plenum chamber was about 2inch's deep. I cannot find my radio code yet so I just felt around for the other hole under/behind the brake servo. My hands are too big, so I got the 'better half' who had no problem pushing the gunge through and all the water followed. I will have to find that Radio Code though. Any suggestions of what to do if I cannot find it? Anyhow thanks for the tip, I have no wet carpets yet but I bet @I was on my way to a big problem, thanks guys.

I'm assuming you're an Audi owner? Not a VW owner. I'm both. In the VW audio book it mentions that should you lose the radio code they will be glad to assist free of charge.

However, there is no mention of this in the Audi audio book. But like you, I needed the code for my stereo. I've known people charged between £10 and £20 for this service. However, I bought a set of rear mudflaps (already had front ones) for £70 and they didn't charge me. I'm assuming they thought they had charged me enough that day!

When I contacted my local Audi dealer they said they would happily give me the code, I just need to go down with the V5 to prove ownership of the car.
