not coded yet but I just brought the same like for like from TPS so a EFB. Don't ask why I didn't replace with a AGM?

EPS light came back on today

Would not having it coded cause this? slightly higher output - 700A/70Ah new and old was 680A/69Ah

You need to know why the ESP light is on, the coding isn’t just about entering the Ah, brand and serial, in doing so you reset the Battery Control Unit charging strategy, if it has been supporting a weak battery it can overcharge a new one and EFB (or AGM) batteries do not like being abused. Just as a point of interest some BCU’s won’t allow AGM coding so you have to fit the later revised BCU and sometimes the option for AGM is called “Fleece”. Another point of interest, I have yet to encounter an aftermarket battery with a 10 digit serial so we make our own up from day, month in letters and year adding/subtracting digits if the month is shorter in letters than say August or longer such as December.

    Thanks @Crasher

So let me me those details plugged and then tackle these throttle body errors. Saw something about resetting the throttle body settings back to basic settings? Any other tests I can run? I'll obviously clear the new error codes when the battery was replaced

Yes you must adapt the TB, it will be in the basic settings menu.

Most of my errors seem to be related to the throttle pedal position sensor. I've been reading that the wires and connector block to the pedal sensor could be what's causing this and there was a VW recall for this?

Update... My son was driving the car today and the usual thing happened and the esp light come followed by the engine light which has never come on. The accelerator pedal stopped working as per normal and he could not accelerate more than 17mph. The engine didn't sound right either. Luckily he was able to get the car to the garage. I guess I have to wait for the error codes which will hopefully be tomorrow

I don’t recall seeing a TPI and there are no outstanding recalls on that car but the pedal has been revised at least twice since yours was built 05-02-13, the last time 01-12-19 to 5Q2 723 503 F which is £186 retail inc.

So the pedal arrived today and I've just fitted it. Took it out for a test drive and all was working well for about 10mins and now I'm in limp mode and it won't rev above 2k. Both EPC and engine light on and the engine sounds rough. Tried switching off and back on but still the same

Left the car parked for around 2hrs and then went back to collect and it drove ok for about 5mins and then started doing the same thing but I managed to get it home. Will scan tomorrow and let you know the error codes.
