So I am a long time ford fan as well as as vw fan. I just thought I would show people what I am up to. Here's my 1975 mk2 escort van. Australian import. Don't let that fool you in to thinking that it was free from rust but 4 years in I am nearly there

Definitely not rust free. There was loads of damage that was just from use and accidents as well. The roof had been squashed by overloading a roof rack at some point in it's life

Looks like it'll keep you busy for a while!

I've got a 74 Vw camper for my long term project - had it 14 years and due to moving to a house that needed a lot of work and then having two kids its been off the road for most of those years....

It'll be finished next year, or the year after, maybe the year after that

Every year so far I have said this year it will be done. I was really hoping to get it on the road before the summer but to many other projects and paying jobs get in the way. I am currently welding up a mk2 fiesta for some one so progress has slowed but I am confident that it will be done by the end of the year ready for next summer. Here's my wheels with original centres and new wider rims. They are not banded. You can get new rims in various widths which is what I wanted as it still has a look of originality but has 6 inch rims

The painter has finally got around to starting work on the van. Here is the underneath painted. It's back on its wheels now so it can go in the spray booth
