Noise coming from engine area car sounds like diesel !

Gott a cyclic tapping noise coming from the engine, the attached picture circles where it seems to be roughly coming from, it sounds a bit like a diesel car running noise, put in 1 litre oil and quiet did trip of 20 miles and fine noise isnt constant sometimes dont hear it then comes back ... is this the end of my car will take it to the garage next week but anyone clever got an idea of what it could be?

To the left of your circle directly behind the washer bottle top is the evaporative emissions vale on to of its carbon canister. When the ECU determines the conditions are correct, it cycles this valve at around 2Hz and they can make a ticking or even thumping noise. The next time you hear it, touch the top of the valve to see if you can feel a matching tapping sensation.

Will do....the noise stops when I switch the air con off !
