    We have owned our 2003 Mk4 1.6 auto for 14 years, and although it only had 78.5K on the clock, it was getting to the point where it was going to need some significant expenditure in the coming months to keep it looking respectable and passing its MOTs, so we have now sold it on

    Not confirmed yet what its replacement will be, so I just wanted to take the opportunity of thanking @Crasher who has helped me countless times over the years with the various issues we have encountered during our long ownership, and continues to provide amazing technical support to people on these forums day in day out. It really is appreciated.
