Touran 2.0TDI BMN cranks, no start

Hi! New here.

I have a 2008 Touran 2.0TDI BMN engine
It suddenly died while driving, no weird sound or signs of failure. The day before it drove as it should, the day after I had to crank it for a second or two longer then usually, but it started. The car was a bit hesitant under acceleration and felt like the engine cut of for a split second. Drove schoolrun and to the shops perfectly, took the long way home and up a hill the car slowly dies. Tried starting it back up and it cranked but no start. Tried jump starting with a startbooster to no luck. Had to be towed back home. Changed the fuel filter, checked fuses but didnt see any clear signs of why it died. The turbo is fine, had a DPF problem but had it regenerated. Cleaned EGR and ASV. I'm out of my expertise now.

Could it be ignition switch or failed Fuel pump.

The failing N345 could be spiking the N316 manifold flap changeover valve as they use the same power supply as does the N75. Failing that the BMN is VERY prone to crank speed sensor failure and this doesn't leave a code in many cases. A clue is to watch the rev counter when it starts to fail and see if it drops not making sense with how the engine is turning.

The wires for N345 had some damage to the insolation, fixed that but still the N345 faultcode. So it could be smart to change out the whole loom to it?
But would it cause the car to suddently stop while driving? I drove up a right hand turn, it is a steep hill. My first thought maybe the car was out of fuel, but it still had half tank left.

Checked the turbo today, spins freely and no play in it.

You need to live data the output of the crank speed sensor in measuring blocks. As you start to do this, comms will drop out for a few seconds but keep going until the value comes back and note it. The batter must be fully charged.

We would start by checking out fuel pump relay is energised. It would rule out a lot either going back or forwards

can hear the pump at the back when I turn the key to acc position, are there two pumps or are the tandem pump at the front the one in the enginebay?

Have looked for the relay and wire diagram, but couldnt make sens of it.
