Hi, unfortunately had a serious engine problem with my 2017 Sharan SE 2.0 Tdi Bluemotion and trying to source a replacement second hand unit to get it back on the road. Looking for anybody who may have a bit more of an insight into the relevant engine codes than I have been able to glean up to now. My engine code is DFMA which as far as I can ascertain was fitted to 2016, 2017 & 2018 Sharans 1968cc & 2000cc while the DFLA was fitted to 2016 Sharans? I have had lots of replies from breakers regarding 'bare' engines but do wonder if they are the correct engine code to match with mine? However, I have found, a complete vehicle on an salvage auction site which is a 2016, Sharan SE NAV Tdi Bluemotion Technology DSG 1968cc. I have contacted the sellers of the vehicle but at this stage they will only confirm it is a 66 reg vehicle, no actual registration number or VIN number. My vehicle is a 2017, 67 reg Sharan SE Tdi Bluemotion Manual. I would point out that my vehicle was factory ordered around February 2017 and actually reached the dealer in July but at my request held onto it in order that it could be registered in the September, giving it the later registration plate. Other than the gearbox difference and it being a whole car I was thinking the engine would be a 'straight' swap given that everything would be there, turbo, injector pump, DPF, EGR valve, all the sensors and importantly the engine ECU which I believe would mean no programming for the engine parts? Unfortunately, without an actual reg number or VIN the workshop I use, which has access to VW technical and local TPS parts supplier they cannot find out if all or the majority of the engine parts are compatible but they do appear to think it may well be given their close proximity to build dates, both being Bluemotion and SE versions as the Navigation system is more of a unit & software thing than a major difference. Any thoughts or input would be welcome, thanks.
