im looking for some help,my sons golf mk5 got took off the road about 12 months ago ,only as he moved out and hes mrs has her own car so it wasnt needed,he decided he wanted to get it back on the road so i started to ready it for the mot, first problem was the battery was just ruined to the point when trying to charge it the acid started to come out of the are vent and wouldnt take a charge,so a new battery was put on it ,then we needed to put a new fuel pump on as the one what was on was blowing fuses when trying to start the car, that got fitted and car runs perfect, the problem is the speedo doesnt work, the abs and steering light is on and the hand brake light comes on and bleeps ,i have a local (non vw garage)and they tried to turn the lights out thinking it was just from having a flat battery, they said the abs module is not comunicating,so i dont have any error codes just the fact its not comunicating ,i have checked the fuses and removed the plug from the module to check power is present and this all seems ok,im a bit stumped as to what could of caused this as it was perfect when parking up,any help would be great tia ,bryn,
