    Hello All,

I recently encountered a situation with my Tiguan and am seeking your advice. I bought this car less than three months ago, opting for an additional 3-year warranty for peace of mind. However, I've run into some issues with the vehicle.

To get a comprehensive understanding, I had an independent workshop perform a health check. They discovered several historical fault codes. When I approached the dealer with these findings, they denied any pre-existing issues , despite their initial inspection supposedly clearing the vehicle of any faults.

Now, they are directing me to get the necessary work done at a local VW dealer under the warranty I purchased. I'm a bit torn on how to proceed.

Should I push the dealer who sold me the car to address these issues before my initial three-month period ends, or should I just go ahead and utilize the warranty service at the local VW dealer?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights you all might have, especially from anyone who has faced a similar situation.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Are the issues related to the fault history?
why did you go to a third party?
Either way I would take the advice of the dealer, and use the warranty (lets face it that's part of the reason they sold it to you) and if you get push back from the warranty company then go back to the dealer?

I noticed the EPC light on my dashboard; it had just come once. So, I took it to a local independent dealer for a swift diagnostic scan. The following fault codes were identified during the scan:

    • P047500: Exhaust Pressure Control Valve issue
    • U041500: Invalid Data Received from the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
    • U101700: ABS Control Module Read Out fault
    • P014800: Fuel Delivery Error.

The seller is a non VW dealer and they insisted me to go to the local VW dealer to get this sorted and use the warranty.

Sensible advice, the faults are probably why the car was sold by we buy any old **** and then stuffed into the block and some poor unsuspecting trader bought it and then sold it to you, the punter, completely unaware they have been stitched up by BCA/WBAC/CAZOO et all. Perhaps you could look into finding a VAG specialist who is adept at dealing with warranty companies where a VW dealer may be not so adaptable.
