    Hi

Searched forums can't find this situation -

Audi A3 2004 2.0 TDI . Glow plug warning light came up, with brake pedal not on all brakes lit up

Scanned with carista error code p0571. Cleared fault code and glow plug light returned.

Went to euro car parts swapped over part simply unclicking and clicking that into place, did not touch pedal.

Car now appears to be in limp mode, with new switch and old switch fitted brake lights on constant with ignition switched off !!! - battery drain.

Remove brake light switch turn ignition off and lights remain off.

Brakes seem normal when driving just limp mode and need to fix switch.

Is limp mode because of faulty switch ?

    Help please !!

    Thanks

Sounds like a bad switch, even genuine ones can fail immediately and you are doing it the correct way.

Hi crasher, many thanks for this reply. Car is at garage at the moment and they are manic. You have given me confidence it could be just still the switch. I will attempt to get a genuine Audi one tomorrow instead of euro car parts, and see if I can get to the car over the weekend /update garage as your the expert/guru.

Many thanks again will update asap.

Hi, just an update to anyone else who has this nightmare problem. It was eventually clutch pedal switch on master cylinder on bulk head in engine bay. It was also repeatedly blowing a fuse. I think 5amp no.7
