    Hi all
Im hoping someone can answer my question
my car is a 2009 A3 1.4 TFSI 6 speed gearbox (LNY) 102,000 miles on the clock
im looking at changing my gearbox oil and struggling to find the right type (I'm aware its supposed to last the lifetime of the car) but as an engineer it goes against everything ive ever learnt and i changed the oil on my old golf and it transformed the gearbox
so can any of you cleaver people help me out
    many thanks in advance

Filled for life means a reduced life, just wrong for anyone who suffers from mechanical sympathy. The VAG number is G 052 527 A2 but is daft money at £50.98 per litre, the A2 at the end of the part number signifies a 1 litre bottle and the capacity is listed at 2.2 litres dry. In generic terms it is an SAE75W or GL-4.

Yes Febi 21829. The box fluids we stock are almost exclusively Febi as we have a direct factor account plus a number of genuine fluids and Ravenol who do some of the more unusual types Febi don’t offer and are insane money genuine. One Audi DSG fluid they do for £24 a litre is £130 from VW and you need 7.5 litres!

Fuchs is an excellent product as are OPIE oils an excellent company. I don’t know if Fuchs make VAG Germanys fluids but they do make fluids for VAG UK under the Quantum brand.

    Hi Crasher
i now have in my possession 3 bottle of Fuchs gearbox oil thx again for your help
May i be really cheeky and ask you a couple of questions about my car in particular my tyre pressures my car runs on 225 40 ZR18 92Y tyres and I’m really struggling to find the correct pressures as the sticker on the door jam label doesn’t even mention 18”
the other question is i found an electrical plug (see pic) under the end cap at the end of the dash (same bit of trim as the fuse box cover) do you have ant idea what it its for?1559242A-C2EA-4FC1-9A11-07946EBD1FCE.jpg
