    Hello,

It has been a while: my 2.7TDI BPP is getting on...
Recently on acceleration over 30 -40 MPH in a higher gear when the engine has warmed up there is a lot of BLACK SMOKE.

    Not sure what it is,

    I have replaced air filter....

I will need to investigate injectors because the one on Cylinder 4 there is some oil mist and spray of something on the coolant tank. I can replace injectors but they will be secondhand.

She is drinking more fuel and a little down on power I think.

NO Faults flared up by the car. I have VCDS and I don't really know how to check whether there is a diversion from spec on rail pressures or injector operation etc.

Will the new injector need to be programmed to the car?

    Advice would be appreciated

Hi, it sounds like you have a boost leak. The ecu is adding fuel for the amount of air flow it should have, if you are losing some of this air you have a rich fuel to air ratio hence black smoke.
Id be looking at boost pipes, intercooler and intake manifold if its a plastic one.

You probably just need the copper washers renewed on the injectors, do them ASAP as the longer you leave it the harder they are to get out.
